It Wouldn’t be a Challenge if it wasn’t Challenging

I started a challenge for October to try to post every day. I was doing pretty well up until last week when Jack got sick for four days straight; I slept on the couch for two of those days and was still woken up every few hours to Jack crying and his dadda getting up and soothing or feeding him. Jack wasn’t sick with anything serious, but he was feverish on and off and couldn’t go to daycare which means Eric and I had to take turns staying home from work.

I thought I’d be able to catch up on blog posts over the weekend but I had a gig on Friday night and another two on Saturday so I have been seriously exhausted.

Last week was also the last at the job I’ve had for the past five and a half years. Getting through that final week was tough, I was blurry-eyed from the lack of sleep and on my last day I tried so hard to be as present as possible but I was so tired I feel like it just flew right by.

It’s bittersweet to leave a job that has been such an enormous part of my life, but I am truly excited about the next phase of my career.

I start working again on the 21st which means I have this week off to recuperate and to catch up on everything I’ve been putting off, including my blog posts!

I started the October challenge to try to rekindle my love for this blog, or to come to terms with the fact that it wasn’t something I wanted to pursue. I’m happy to say that the challenge, so far, has absolutely rekindled my love and passion and I’ve really enjoyed getting back in touch with everyone. Thank you all for helping me get there, and hopefully you will enjoy the rest of the challenge.

What was your high and low this week?
